200°C Vertical Hot Rolling Press ( 4") w/ Asynchronous Rolling Speed & Pressure Display- MSK-HRP-22

MSK-HRP-22 Vertical Hot Rolling Press features a pair of 100mm wide steel rollers with Asynchronous rolling speed control up to 200°C. The separated control unit features a touch-screen control panel to control the temperature and rolling speed of each roller, and display the  rolling force during rolling
 The rolling press can be placed inside glove box by optional  three KF40 port
Its vertical rolling position allows users to "gravity feed" flexible films and produces shear force during rolling. Such a compact calendar machine can be put in Ar gas glove-box and is very useful for preparing flexible or dry battery electrode sheets for Li-ion / Solid-Air battery research

Horizontal Setup 
  • Beside the vertical setup that suitable for direct powder feeding and dry film formation (eg: graphite anode fabrication), the hot rolling press also can be set in horizontal for dry cathode (eg: NCM811) shape formation and calendering.

  • Note: The direct powder-to-dry cathode film is quite challenging since the pre-sheet-formation by manual way is critical. After the initial film formation, repeatedly rolling press in horizontal way to get desirable dry cathode thickness.

  • Two independent temperature controllers enable dual-zone temperature control for the front and rear rollers.
  • Temperature range: RT - 200°C with 30segments programmable
  • Temperature accuracy +/-5°C
  • Max heating temp: 200°C <30min
  • Continuous heating temp: 190°C
  • Two heating elements are installed
  • Power of each Heating Element: 500 Watts
  • The heating rod is consumable. Please click the picture left to order a replacement
  • Heating Rate:
    • RT-100°C: ~3°C/min
    • 100-150°C: ~2.5°C/min
    • 150-200°C: 1~2°C/min

  • Speed control: 0.5-12.5 RPM adjustable via touchscreen

  • Two rollers are aligned horizontally and supported by the steel frame. Such a design allows users to gravity-feed flexible materials from above the rollers and collect them at the bottom. (Pic. 1)

  • Never calendaring decrement over 0.02mm compared with the original sheet thickness after each calendaring.
  • Clean the roller surface before and after each rolling process. Lubricate the roller surface when the machine is planned for idle to avoid corrosion.
  • It is not allowed to use any MTI product in any hazardous location, especially prohibited from using in Class I environments (flammable gases & vapor).
