Automated Sliding Tube Furnace (2"OD, 1100°C max.) for Fast Heating / Cooling - OTF1200XSL50

OTF-1200X-50-SL is a compact automatic sliding tube furnace with 2" OD x 36" L Quartz tube and flanges with 1100°C max. working temperature. The automatic sliding mechanism allows the furnace to slide from one side to the other for achieving the max. heating and cooling rates of > 100°C/min.

For fast heating, the furnace is pre-heated to the desired temperature and then get slid to the sample's position. 
For fast cooling, the furnace can be slid out of the sample area after sample heating is completed. The original heated area is exposed to the ambient temperature and cooled by enhanced air convection.
All automated sliding movement can only be done once per operation.

  • Built-in over-temperature alarm and protection allow for operation without an attendant.

  • Sliding is driven by an electric motor by programming or manual operation.

 Vacuum Flanges

  • Vacuum sealed flange with SS needle valves and a vacuum gauge is included for immediate use
  • Option: Vacuum Sealing Assembly for 50 mm Dia Tube Furnace with KF-25 Vacuum Port & 1/4 Feedthrough with Digital Gauge is available at an extra cost

  • < 3 psig

  • Limited by the pump ( pump is not included, click on pictures to order )
    • 10E-2 torr by a mechanical pump.
    • 10E-5 torr can be reached by turbopump with quartz thermal blocks as shown below

  • Automated sliding functions programmable in the temperature controller

    • Fast heating: the furnace is preheated to the target temperature first, then the furnace is going to move over to the sample position automatically. 
    • Fast cooling: once the heating profile is done, the furnace moves away from the sample automatically. The sample will be cooled by a cooling fan outside of the tube. 
    • All automated sliding movement can only be done once per operation. 

Remote Control and Communication (optional)

  • Complementary LabVIEW Based Temperature Control Software (MTS03) enables the user to edit temperature profiles, manage heat-treatment recipes, and log temperature data. 
  • Communication chip and RS-485 communication cable (MTS01) is optional for purchase.
